HEALING THE INNER CHILD: CREATING SAFETY FOR LOVE, ABUNDANCE, AND CHANGE

WHY THE WOUNDED CHILD AND THE CRITICAL INNER PARENT MAY BOTH BE ASKING FOR THE SAME THING: SAFETY

Sometimes we consciously want more love, abundance, confidence, or freedom, yet something inside us seems to resist receiving it.

In my work at CARE Energy Healing, I often look at this through the lens of the inner child.

A younger part of us may have learned very early that love had to be earned, that being seen was unsafe, that mistakes led to criticism, or that keeping other people happy was the safest way to belong.

Those patterns can continue long after childhood has ended.

The teaching behind inner-child work describes the Adapted Child as the part that learned how to survive through patterns such as being perfect, staying quiet, pleasing others, hiding emotions, or earning approval. Pasted markdown

THE WOUNDED CHILD AND THE CRITICAL PARENT

I believe it is important to work with both.

The wounded child may say:

“I’m scared.”

“I’m not good enough.”

“Please don’t leave me.”

“It isn’t safe to be seen.”

But the Critical Parent can also be a wounded protective part.

It may have learned to keep us safe through control, perfectionism, criticism, overthinking, or constantly trying to fix ourselves.

Its voice might sound like:

“Try harder.”

“Don’t make a mistake.”

“You should be doing better.”

“Get it together.”

The source teaching describes how the Critical Parent and wounded or Adapted Child can reinforce one another: criticism increases the child’s sense of inadequacy, and the child’s insecurity gives the critical voice even more reason to take control. Pasted markdown

Neither part needs to be rejected.

Both may be trying, in very different ways, to keep us safe.

WHY SAFETY MATTERS

If a younger part of us still associates love with abandonment, money with conflict, visibility with rejection, or success with danger, it may be difficult to fully relax into the very things we consciously want.

In the spiritual framework I use in my work, this can show up as feeling unable to receive love, abundance, opportunity, or change even when we deeply desire them.

This does not mean that healing your inner child guarantees money or a soulmate.

It means that when we feel safer internally, we may become more open to receiving, connecting, setting healthy boundaries, taking opportunities, and making choices that support the life we want.

The goal is not to force the wounded part to disappear.

The teaching emphasizes integration rather than rejection, allowing the Critical Parent to soften into a Nurturing Parent and the Adapted Child to become freer. Pasted markdown

INNER CHILD WORK IN MY CARE ENERGY HEALING SESSIONS

During a CARE Energy Healing session, I use muscle testing together with the Emotion Code®, Body Code®, and Belief Code® systems to explore perceived emotional imbalances, subconscious beliefs, energetic patterns, and possible Recovery Interference.

When a younger part appears connected to a pattern, I may explore questions such as:

  • What is this part afraid will happen?

  • What did it learn about love, safety, worth, or receiving?

  • Is there a belief or emotional imbalance connected with that experience?

  • What does this younger part need to hear now?

Sometimes the wounded child needs reassurance.

Sometimes the Critical Parent needs reassurance too.

Instead of telling either part to go away, the message becomes:

“I understand why you learned to protect me this way.”

“Thank you.”

“I am here now.”

“Things are different now.”

“You do not have to protect me in the same way anymore.”

The intention is to help create greater balance across the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of the person, allowing old protective patterns that are no longer serving us an opportunity to soften or fall away.

BECOMING YOUR OWN LOVING PARENT

One of the most powerful ideas in the teaching you shared is:

“I am my own loving parent.” Pasted markdown

The question becomes less:

“What is wrong with me?”

and more:

“What does this younger part of me need in order to feel safe?”

Perhaps the deepest inner-child work is not about becoming somebody new.

It is about helping the parts of us that learned to survive finally discover that they no longer have to live in survival mode.

And as those parts begin to feel safer, there may be more room for love, receiving, joy, connection, possibility, and abundance.

CURIOUS ABOUT INNER CHILD HEALING?

At CARE Energy Healing, I use muscle testing, the Emotion Code®, Body Code®, Belief Code®, Reiki, and complementary energy-healing techniques to explore perceived subconscious, emotional, belief-related, and energetic patterns.
